I am going to be replacing a treo 600 soon and am hoping that the treo 755 will be a good upgrade and be able to send a receive faxes with CS FAX

We haven't heard anything about the 755 yet. After the issues that were introducted with the 680 and 700p, all we can do is keep our fingers crossed.

The 755p does work for both sending and receiving! Sending worked right off the bat but I did have to increase the speed from the default 19200 to 115200 and then it reveived with no problem.

Also just to make sure everyone knows its only with the 3.09 beta does the 755p work. The older 3.01 version has the same problems that the 700p has.

The 3.0.9 release is specifically modified for 700p's and 755's. But no one has mentioned having to change the baud rate. Could you tell us what led you to try the higher baud rate and what differences you see in the behavior?

CS Fax actually supports much higher baud rates than are possible on fax connections. The idea that ultra high speeds might have an impact on (what we're guessing is) system latency honestly never occurred to us! Surprised

Well when it was on the default setting every time I tried faxing something to my phone it would connect and then time out before anything was sent. The reason I thought of increasing the baud rate was from my dealings long ago in dial up modems for computers, the faster the baud rate the more stable the modem's connection (at least those were my personal findings) so I gave it a shot and it worked. I must have tried 6 different times before I changed it and since then it hasn't failed once.

I hope that makes sense and helps.

Somewhat unexpected behavior (to say the least,) but certainly if anyone is having issues we recommend trying it. Thanks for passing it on!

UPDATE: Now that I have been using the beta for 2 days I have noticed that Receiving is erratic. I think changing the baud rate was just luck but I have since put the baud rate back to the default. Sending still seems to work just fine.
